Les Mis Premieres Tonight In Leicester Square

The Motion picture adaptation of Les Misérables premieres tonight in Leicester Square. It opens in cinemas on 11 January.

The Les Mis movie stars a host of famous names in the lead roles including Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert, Anne Hathaway as Fantine, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, Eddie Redmayne as Marius, Aaron Tveit as Enjolras, Samantha Barks as Eponine, with Helena Bonham Carter as Madame Thenardier and Sacha Baron Cohen as Thenardier.  

Les Misérables follows ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who after spending 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread, is hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever as 19th century France is swept by revolution.

The West End stage production of Les Misérables is now in its 27 year at the Queen’s Theatre and is currently taking bookings until the 26 October 2013.
