Cheap The Mousetrap tickets at St Martins Theatre
The Show
The world's longest running play, The Mousetrap has passed the 60-year mark and shows no signs of stopping. Written by Queen of Crime, Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot creator Agatha Christie, this gripping murder mystery has baffled generations of London audiences since the 1950s. It’s become known as a London institution, but outside of that singular reputation The Mousetrap remains a remarkably solid and enjoyable slice of entertainment in its own right.
Its period charm is abundant, and while it may not have the hard edge and streamlined slickness of latter-day crime fiction, its essential Englishness and satisfyingly baffling whodunnit plot ensure that its many classic pleasures translate well for modern audiences.
If there’s one thing everyone knows about Ms Christie’s perennial money-spinner, it’s that to reveal its twist ending to someone who hasn’t yet seen the play is itself a crime serious enough to be rewarded with a hasty execution in a quietened study. So remember – if you’re going to get caught in The Mousetrap, make absolutely sure you don’t squeak.
The Story
When a group of people with mysterious pasts get stuck at a countryside manor during a snow storm, a murder is committed. Only one of them could have done it. Enter Detective Sergeant Trotter, who assures all the guests he will protect them and uncover the murderer's identity. But can he succeed before the murderer strikes again?
Come and see the murder mystery that everyone talks about – without ever revealing the murderer of course – and put your sleuthing skills to the test. An evening at St Martin's Theatre is like curling up with an Agatha Christie novel - only better. Book your Mousetrap tickets today and give your little grey cells a workout as you try to guess the killer's identity.

Venue Info
St. Martin's Theatre
St Martin's Theatre is situated on West Street in the West End of London, close to Leicester Square tube station. Built in 1916, this 553 seat venue is one of the few theatres in London to remain privately owned. It’s internationally famous as the home of the world’s longest-running play, The Mousetrap.
The first production at the St Martin’s Theatre was Fred Thompson’s Edwardian comedy Houp La! which opened on November 23 1916. Among the countless notable shows to have graced this venerable West End theatre’s stage since then are Hugh Williams’ The Grass is Greener, John Mortimer’s The Wrong Side of the Park and the twisty thriller Sleuth.
And, of course, there’s The Mousetrap. Agatha Christie’s perennial whodunnit originally opened at the Ambassadors Theatre in 1952 before transferring to the St Martins in 1974 where it plays to this day. In celebration of its 60th anniversary on stage, The Mousetrap will begin its first ever UK tour in September 2012.
Like any long-serving institution, the St Martin’s Theatre has experienced its fair share of changes over the years. After nearly a century, general wear and tear takes its toll. In recent years there have been extensive refurbishments carried out on both the interior and exterior of the building. All of the woodwork has been restored, the curtains replaced, there is now silk wallpaper has throughout the auditorium and the seats have been reupholstered. The stage curtains were also replaced.
The layout, size and atmosphere of the St Martins Theatre make it the perfect place to see and intimate and involving drama, so it’s little wonder The Mousetrap has been such a hit there for so long.
We wish you an entertaining and rewarding visit.
