The Show

The Royal Opera House Mixed Bill showcases the dazzling work of feted choreographers George Balanchine, Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon.

Starting the bill is Balanchine’s interpretation of the myth of Apollo, thought of as one of the landmark ballets of the 20th century.

The spectacle continues with Wheeldon’s latest work that spotlights his unique and exhilarating style of choreography and closing out the bill is Alexei Ratmansky’s first work for a British company. This highly anticipated world premiere offers a unique opportunity to experience the work of this thrilling Russian choreographer.

The Performers

Carlos Acosta has danced with many companies including the English National Ballet, National Ballet of Cuba, Houston Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. He has been a permanent member of The Royal Ballet since 1998, and in 2003 he was promoted to Principal Guest Artist.

Marianela Nunez joined The Royal Ballet at the start of the 1998/99 Season, aged 16. She was promoted to First Soloist in 2001 and made a Principal in September 2002.
