Bincho Yakitori
|
Bincho Yakitori brings the modern Japanese Izakaya experience to London's Soho, based in Old Compton Street with counters overlooking the cobbles; Bincho offers authentic yakitori and kushiyaki in a stylish urban setting.
Yakitori, those charcoal-cooked skewers of chicken that are the Japanese equivalent of a barbecue, are the speciality at the Soho branch. The place even gets its name, Bincho, from the word for a special highly carbonised charcoal used for grilling. Fish and vegetables - called kushiyaji - as well as meat are grilled over the open flame and, in the Japanese way, finished with either salt or authentic yakitori sauce. The best tables offer views of the grills where the chefs cook the delicious morsels of Japanese street food.
