Covent Garden has welcomed another branch of the Canteen chain to its chain-friendly territory. Expect the restaurant’s usual decor of back-to-basics modernity with trademark comfort food made from judiciously sourced ingredients. Classic dishes include quality pies & roasts, with the kitchen also offering snacks such as toasted Welsh-rarebit sandwiches, cakes & afternoon teas, as well as seasonally changing set menus. With no reservations & a flexible & accommodating vibe, Canteen is perfectly set up for all-day drop-in dining. Drinks, too, are a draw, with beers from Greenwich’s Meantime brewery & a good range of wines served by the glass.
