Spice Girls Musical Viva Forever! Starts Previews Tonight

Hotly-anticipated Spice Girls musical Viva Forever! starts previews tonight at the Piccadilly Theatre, prior to its official opening night on 11 December.

Rather than being a biographical show about the mega-succesful Nineties pop quintet, Viva Forever!  instead uses the Spice Girls’ music to drive along the story of a mother-daughter relationship that plays out against the backdrop of a reality TV singing contest.

The show is produced by Mamma Mia! powerhouse Judy Craymer and was written by comedienne / national treasure Jennifer Saunders, whose prior credits include Absolutely Fabulous, French and Saunders - and Spice World The Movie, no less.

Viva Forever! stars Sally Anne Triplett and Hannah John-Kamen as mother and daughter Lauren and Viva. Viva’s three best friends Luce, Diamond and Holly are played by Siobhan Athwal, Lucy Phelps and Dominique Provost-Chalkley respectively.

Other principle cast members include Bill Ward, Sally Dexter and Tamara Wall as TV talent show judges. Making their West End debuts are Ben Cura as Angel, the musical director of the TV talent show, and Hatty Preston as production assistant Minty. Simon Adkins plays Leon the stylist, and Anthony Topham is Lance the presenter.

Viva Forever! has been produced in association with the Spice Girls, Simon Fuller and Universal Music and will feature 16 of the Spice Girls’ songs.
