Thirteen-year-old Tade Biesinger has stepped into the shoes of the title role in Billy Elliot The Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
Having previously played the role in the closing cast of the Broadway Production, Biesinger is the second actor to play Billy Elliot on both Broadway and the West End. He is the 32nd boy to play Billy in the London production. He alternates the role with Harris Beattie, Harrison Dowzell, Redmand Rance and Kaine Ward.
Billy Elliot The Musical is based on the 2000 Oscar-winning film. It has a book and lyrics by Lee Hall and music by Elton John. The musical premiered at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2005 and went onto win four Lawrence Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical.
A classic tale of triumph over adversity, it tells the story of 11-year-old Billy who lives with his Dad, Brother and Gran in a mining town in the north of England. Billy has a talent that could free him from his life of struggle and take him all the way to the top.
